Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble antioxidant vitamin that plays a role in more than 300 bodily functions. It is essential in the maintenance of collagen, a protein necessary for forming skin, ligaments, bones and teeth, and the strength of blood vessel walls and metabolism of white blood cells. Vitamin C also plays an important role in the absorption of iron.

Vitamin C is essential in the support of health and wellness and requires daily replenishment as it cannot be manufactured nor stored in any appreciable amount in the body. Vitamin C may be available from food sources but is destroyed during food preparation.
