Prof Keith Kwong Hung Lau

Clinical Interest:

Paediatric nephrology with special interests in the outcomes of children receiving minimised steroids protocol after allograft kidney transplantation


Prof Lau graduated from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 1987 and continued his postgraduate training in paediatrics and paediatric nephrology in Canada and USA. He was an attending physician and assistant professor in the University of California, Davis, where he also served as Associate Residency Programme Director. He then moved to McMaster Children Hospital, Canada, and took on the position of Chief of Nephrology and Associate Professor. Prof Lau has also served as the executive members of the American Society of Paediatric Nephrology and Canadian Association of Paediatric Nephrologists.

Before joining Raffles Hospital, Prof Lau was Director of the International Medical Center and Deputy Director of the Department of Paediatrics, HKU – Shenzhen Hospital. He is the Honorary Clinical Professor of HKU Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine.

Prof Lau was the awardee of various scholarships such as the Accredo Paediatric Scientist Award, SSCI Nephrology Young Investigator Award, Carmel Scholar Award and the Eli Gold Award. He has also published over 200 book chapters and journal articles.

Prof Lau is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
