Spectra Laser Peel

What Is Spectra Laser Peel?

Spectra Laser Peel, also known as the “Hollywood Peel” due to its popularity amongst celebrities as a go-to treatment before events, is a skin rejuvenation treatment that is safe for most skin types and gives results with very minimal downtime. The laser used is a Q-switched NdYag laser.

How Does Spectra Laser Peel work?

A thin layer of carbon lotion is first applied over the skin and left on for several minutes to allow for penetration into the pores. The laser is then passed over the skin in Spectra mode, which heats up collagen and skin. The carbon layer acts as a photo-enhancer and allows the laser to target pores more readily. A second pass is then applied in Q-switched mode which removes the carbon layer and lightly exfoliates the skin, rejuvenating it and removing pigment at the same time.

What Skin Conditions Does Spectra Carbon Peel Treat?

This treatment is good for patients with acne, large pores and uneven skin tone - or anyone who's looking to have healthier, radiant looking complexion. It helps to achieve reduction in pore size, reduces acne breakouts and acne marks as well as enhances overall skin tone and lightens pigmentation. It also improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Is The Procedure For Spectra Laser Peel Painful?

The pain associated with the treatment is low. Most patients can tolerate the treatment without the use of a numbing cream, although it can be used if required. The treatment takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The use of a numbing cream will add an additional 30 minutes to the procedure.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is minimal or no downtime with this treatment. There is usually mild redness after treatment, which normally lasts less than a day or two. You can return to your normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. There is no scabbing, crusting or wound formation on the skin at all. Sun protection however, is crucial post-treatment.

How Often Must You Repeat The Treatment?

Treatments are usually spaced out 4 weekly. Most patients would require 3 to 5 sessions for best results.
