Our Work: 2019

Spreading the Festive Cheer to the less fortunate

To spread the festive cheer for 30 low-income families cared for by Bethesda Care Services (BCS) and 12 elderly residents at Zion Home for the Aged, staff of Raffles Medical Group went grocery shopping. The volunteers later delivered the AMF sponsored goodies bags to BCS at the Bethesda Church and Zion Home for the Aged on Saturday, 22 December 2018.

Pillow Angels

In support of Giving Week, Simmons (SEA) and AMF donated 300 pillows and pillow protectors to Bethesda Care Services (BCS) to support their elderly residents who are part of BCS medical escort and transport beneficiaries.

On Saturday, 26 January 2019, about 35 of Raffles Medical Group staff and their family members volunteered to deliver pillows and pillow protectors to 60 elderly residents living in the East (Bedok, Tampines and Pasir Ris).

Raffles Medical Group (RMG) Ward 13 Emergency Care Collaboration* (ECC) inpatients

AMF volunteers engage with patients at Raffles Hospital’s ECC ward on a Saturday afternoon through board games to stave off loneliness and keep the patients’ minds active.  The ECC is a partnership with the Ministry of Health for RMG to take in acute and emergency patients at a subsidised rate so that public hospitals can better manage their resources.

Project SilverCare (PSC) 2019

Project SilverCare is an annual health-screening programme jointly organised by students from NUS Medicine, including the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, and the NUS Department of Pharmacy. Over two Saturdays, 7 & 21 September 2019, PSC, with support from AMF, provided door-to-door home visits to screen residents living at rental housing blocks 109 and 210A in Bukit Batok for frailty and associated conditions.
