Couples with fertility issues have a lower chance of conceiving naturally. SO-IUI is an assisted reproductive technique that can help couples improve their chances of pregnancy.
During this procedure, fertility drugs are given to the patient, over the course of five days, to stimulate the production and ovulation of two to three mature ovarian follicles (eggs). On the day of the insemination, the prepared sperm is then placed directly into the uterus via intrauterine insemination.
This procedure may increase the success rate of conception by up to 18 per cent per cycle*.
*Based on Raffles Fertility Centre’s success rate in 2014 - 2017. Individual results may vary.
