What tests are there for food allergies?

A skin prick test and blood test for IgE antibodies to specific foods is used to test for food allergies.

Food Intolerance

Reaction may occur up to several hours or days after contact with allergen.

What are the symptoms of food intolerance?

  • Arthritis
  • Abrupt diarrhoea
  • Bloating sensation
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Chronic cough
  • Eczema
  • Headaches
  • Stomach or abdominal pain
  • Water retention

What tests are there for food tolerance?

A blood test for IgG antibodies to specific foods is used to test for food tolerance. An added advantage is that the blood sample can be tested for more than 90 different foods.
