Our Team

At Raffles Chinese Medicine, our physicians are trained to manage a range of medical conditions in the areas of Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics. They graduated from established TCM education institutions in Singapore and China. All are registered with the TCM Practitioners Board of Singapore.

In line with the Raffles Group Practice philosophy, our physicians work as a team to share collective experience and build team competence to treat more complex medical conditions in key areas of clinical interests. These include Women’s Health and Fertility, Pain Management, Sub-Health Management and Cancer Complementary Care. We aim to deepen and expand these areas to meet the growing needs of our patients.

We also work closely with western medical specialists and doctors to co-manage patients. This model allows us to offer patients the best of east and west in accordance to the needs of the patients’ present condition.

Profile

Physician Miao Meng trained as a western medical doctor and graduated from Inner Mongolia Medical University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Medicine. She served in the 3rd Affiliated Hospital to Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. She took a post-graduate course in Acupuncture at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and was awarded a Master’s degree in Chinese Medicine from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. She became a registered TCM Physician in Singapore in 2006 and has practised in Singapore since then. 

Physician Miao is qualified to prescribe herbal medication and to provide acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping and tuina treatment.

Profile

Physician Zhao graduated from Inner Mongolia Medical University in 1987 as a western medical doctor. She served as a resident physician and physician leader in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Yuhuatai District, Nanjing City for 11 years, where she specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She graduated from the Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and became a registered TCM Physician in 2007.

Physician Zhao’s clinical focus is in the use of herbal medicine to improve women's health and treat gynaecological conditions, including irregular menstruation, pre-menstrual stress, cramps, endometriosis, fibroids, infertility and menopause. She also provides acupuncture and herbal medicine to treat other conditions that include gastritis, fatty liver and hypertension.

Physician Chew Hong Gian graduated from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and Singapore College of TCM in 2013. He became a Registered TCM Physician in the same year and has since practiced at Raffles Chinese Medicine.

Physician Chew is qualified to prescribe herbal medication, as well as administer acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping and tuina.

Profile

Physician Tan graduated from the pioneer batch of the joint double degree programme in Chinese Medicine and Biomedical Sciences by Nanyang Technological University and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) in 2010. She was registered as a TCM Physician in the same year. In 2011, Physician Tan was awarded a scholarship from the China Scholarship Council. She graduated with a Master degree in TCM in 2014. Physician Tan's clinical training includes attachment to BUCM's affiliated Dongfang Hospital and Guo Yi Tang Outpatient Clinic. Extensive training in Rheumatology and other Internal Medicine departments has provided her with exposure to TCM and Conventional Medicine treatment methods. 

Physician Tan's clinical interests lie in the use of herbal medication and acupuncture for pain management, including the treatment of rheumatologic diseases such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout and Sjogren's syndrome. She also deals with dermatological conditions (psoriasis, hives, and eczema) and women's health problems (menstrual irregularities, menopause). Her interests in other areas include digestive problems, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory conditions, endocrine disorders and neurological problems.

Physician Leong Yuet Cheng graduated from Singapore College of TCM in 2008 and became a Registered TCM Physician in the same year.  Her clinical experience started since 2009. 

She spent 6 years in Chong Hwa Medical Institution Toa Payoh HQ as a volunteer TCM physician and 1.5 years as a locum in a private TCM clinic.  Physician Leong joined Raffles Chinese Medicine since 2015.

Physician Ong Fang Ying graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine with a Bachelor of Chinese Medicine. She continued to receive a Clinical Master’s Degree in Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina. During her 8 years in Beijing, she received training in Dongzhimen Hospital, Xi Yuan Hospital and Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital. She worked alongside her mentor in Dongzhimen Hospital for 3 years, treating patients with a wide variety of conditions. She is a registered TCM Physician in Singapore and a licensed TCM Physician in China.

Physician Ong is qualified to provide acupuncture, herbal medication, cupping, moxibustion and acupressure treatment.

Profile

Physician Tay Jia Yin graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with a Double Degree in Biomedical Sciences and Chinese Medicine with honours. Upon graduation, she won a scholarship from the Chinese government for further studies, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Clinical Acupuncture at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine after three years of clinical experience at Dongzhimen Hospital as a Resident Physician.

To further sharpen her skills, Physician Tay received additional training at the Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM. In Singapore, Physician Tay was under the tutelage of Western doctors at Singapore General Hospital and National University Hospital. Her exposure to numerous medical conditions from both Western and Chinese Medicine perspectives allows her to ensure the absolute best for her patients.

Physician Teo was trained in Biomedical Science and Chinese Medicine under a joint programme by Nanyang Technological University and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. She underwent a two-year clinical stint in Beijing's Dongfang Hospital, with rotations to specialties such as neurology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, cardiology, endocrinology, rheumatology, urology, gynaecology and paediatrics.

Physician Teo's clinical interests lie in the use of herbal medication and acupuncture for gastrointestinal conditions such as gastritis and irritable bowel syndrome, women’s health and fertility issues, dermatological problems such as eczema, and respiratory issues like viral cough and asthma. She is also experienced in managing sub-health problems related to obesity, chronic fatigue syndrome, migraine, mood disorders and insomnia.
