Pico Laser

What is pico laser?

Pico laser is a non-invasive treatment that uses ultra-short pulses of concentrated energy to target common skin imperfections and pain points such as acne scars, freckles, age spots, uneven skin tone, and tattoos. As its name suggests, “pico” refers to picosecond, and can be understood as one trillionth of a second.

Pico laser is effective in removing unwanted pigmentation and scars. It is also capable of skin rejuvenation and brightening to improve skin tone and texture.

With short downtime and minimal discomfort, pico laser is a great option for individuals looking to address their skin concerns and achieve their desired look.

At Raffles Skin and Aesthetics, we use PicoCare 450, an FDA-approved machine that is safe for use on both the face and body.

Pico laser – How many sessions?

The number of pico laser session depends on one’s condition and the desired outcome.

Most patients typically undergo a series of sessions ranging from three to six sessions, with an interval of three to four weeks for rejuvenation and acne scar treatment.

For pigment removal, it generally takes one to two sessions, two months apart. For tattoo removal, upwards of six sessions can be expected about six to eight weeks apart, depending on the colour of the tattoo.

You are advised to consult our dermatologist for a detailed assessment and care plan to help you reach your aesthetics goals.
