Dr Wong Kutt Sing obtained his MBBS from NUS under the Lim Boon Keng Scholarship. He is a Fellow of the Royal Surgical College of Edinburgh, the Royal Surgical College of Glasgow and the Academy of Medicine of Singapore. Under a Singapore Government Health Manpower Development Plan Scholarship in 2002, he did a clinical fellowship in Advanced Colorectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in USA.

He is a member of the Cochrane Colorectal Cancer Group as well as one of the collaborators of the International Anastomotic Leak Study Group. He has authored publications in journals such as Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery, Asian Journal of Surgery, Diseases of the Colon and Rectum and a book chapter in Current Therapy in Colon and Rectal Surgery (2nd Ed, published 2005). He is a manuscript reviewer for the Annals, Academy of Medicine, Singapore and the Singapore Medical Journal

He received the Annals Gold Reviewer Award in 2010, 2011 and again in 2015 for his quality review work with the Annals.

Dr Wong was previously Adjunct Senior Lecturer with Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at NUS and Clinical Examiner in the Surgery Track of the Final Professional MBBS Examinations. He is a founding member of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons Singapore. At national level, he received the Gold and Star Excellent Service Awards in 2007 and 2008 respectively. He also received the Service Star Award by Raffles Medical Group in 2010. In addition, he was the top cadet in his Medical Officer Cadet Course during his full-time national service. In 2015, Dr Wong developed and co-authored a Clinical Experience Paper on surgical treatment of piles.
