Profile:
Dr Anthony Foo graduated from University College London in 2005 and completed his postgraduate specialist training in Hand Surgery in Singapore in 2013.
Prior to joining Raffles Hospital, Dr Foo was a consultant at the National University Hospital and an Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore. He has completed multiple travelling fellowships in various countries including Mayo Clinic Rochester (United States), Ningxia People’s Hospital (China), Schulthess Klinik Zurich (Switzerland), Ospedale Borgo Roma Verona (Italy), and Lerdsin Hospital Bangkok (Thailand).
Dr Foo has held several professional leadership roles, including Chair of the Chapter of Hand Surgeons (Academy of Medicine) for two consecutive terms and Executive Committee member of the Singapore Society for Hand Surgery for 9 years, where he organised numerous regional meetings during his tenure. His research contributions include over 30 peer reviewed articles.
Dr Foo’s clinical interests include disorders of bone, joints and soft tissues in adults and children. These include pain and inflammation of tendons, nerve inflammation and compression, fractures and congenital hand disorders.
Dr Foo’s clinical practice is guided by personalised care to suit individual needs and recovery goals, from school children through to professional athletes. As a Masters athlete and former competitive swimmer, he is passionate about maintaining athletic performance in adults. In this area, he works with trainers, therapists and health coaches to achieve desired outcomes.
