Profile:

Dr Chew Shen Hui, Bertrand obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from NUS in 2001. He obtained his Masters in Dental Surgery (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) from NUS in 2006 became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS). His postgraduate studies was sponsored by the NHG (Alexandra Health) from the second year. He is an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and obtained the Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS). In 2012, he also obtained the SAF Overseas Fellowship to further specialize in Implantology at UCLA, USA.

Dr Chew’s experience includes being the Singapore Armed Forces Head Dental Officer, a Consultant at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Medical Centre, and Visiting Consultant to the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Alexandra Health and National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore. He was also a visiting Consultant and the member of the Oral Health Academician program at National Dental Centre Singapore. At the Faculty of Dentistry, NUS, Dr Chew taught the post-graduate and undergraduate courses in Implant Dentistry as a Senior Clinical Lecturer. Likewise, he is a certified Trainer for the Advanced Trauma Life Support Course (ATLS). He is also currently a Senior Visiting Specialist in the SAF.

His clinical interests include bone/soft tissue grafting, implantology, dental alveolar procedures and upper wisdom tooth removal.

In his spare time, he helps out at the community (such as overseas mission trips) and he holds an Advanced Certificate of Community Leadership, a joint program by the People Association and the Republic Polytechnic.

Languages spoken: English, Mandarin, Basic Hokkien, Teochew and Bahasa Melayu.
