Profile:
Dr Ganesan Naidu is a Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery. He graduated from the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Medicine in 1990. Dr Ganesan was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1999 where he completed his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2007 and obtained his Fellowship in Orthopaedics and Traumatology. He was awarded a scholarship to further his expertise in Orthopaedic Trauma at the Unfallklinik, Mainz, Germany in December 2007.
Dr Ganesan has held numerous distinguished professional appointments. From 2011 to 2015, he served as Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma Service and Head of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Dr Ganesan was also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and a regular lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, Nanyang Polytechnic. Additionally, he served as the Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association. Dr Ganesan was a faculty member of AOTrauma Asia Pacific, as well as the Advanced Trauma Life Support and Definitive Surgery in Trauma Care courses at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
With extensive experience in orthopaedic trauma surgery, Dr Ganesan’s clinical interests include pelvic and acetabular fractures, limb reconstruction, and fractures around joints. He also performs total joint replacement of the hip and knee, as well as primary elbow joint replacement. In addition, he has a keen interest in sports knee surgery and arthroscopic sports surgery.
