Profile:

Dr Tong Huei Jinn is an experienced paediatric dentist known for her calm, thoughtful approach to caring for children and their families. She brings together a strong blend of clinical expertise, academic depth, and genuine empathy in her care of children from infancy through adolescence. Her clinical interests include the interdisciplinary management of severe dental trauma and dental anomalies, care of children with complex medical or developmental conditions, and supporting anxious children through positive dental experiences. She is well-versed in the full scope of paediatric dental procedures and is a strong advocate for improving oral health outcomes in children with special needs.

Dr Tong graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2004. Under the NUS Overseas Graduate Scholarship she pursued specialist training in the United Kingdom, earning a Master of Dental Science (Paediatric Dentistry) with distinction from the University of Leeds in 2010. She is a Ministry of Health-accredited specialist in Paediatric Dentistry and holds membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Upon returning to Singapore, Dr Tong served at her alma mater as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry and Consultant at National University Hospital, where she was involved in clinical care, teaching and research. Currently an Adjunct Senior Lecturer, Dr Tong remains actively involved in academia through her academic affiliation and publications. She lectures locally and internationally, and sits on the editorial board of the European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry and Dental Traumatology journal. She continues to be involved in postgraduate residency training and serves on the Singapore Dental Council Dental Specialist Accreditation Committee.

Dr Tong’s practice is centred on building trust and fostering lifelong oral health literacy, through the delivery of evidence-based care that is culturally sensitive and respectful of each child’s unique needs. Outside the clinic, she finds her greatest joy in spending time with her family and re-discovering the world through her children’s eyes.
