Screen for Life (SFL) health screening with Raffles Medical
Raffles Medical CHAS clinics are participating providers in the Screen for Life Programme by the Health Promotion Board. Under this programme, eligible Singaporeans are encouraged to go for regular health screenings and the necessary follow-up at subsidised rates.
Singapore Permanent Residents can enjoy HPB’s screening test rates for the recommended screenings.
Recommended screenings differ for different age groups.

Age 25 & Above (Females)
Cervical Cancer
- Cervical cancer is highly curable when detected and treated early.
- A pap smear can test for abnormal cells in the cervix.
How often?
- For ladies aged 25 to 29, you are recommended to get a pap smear done once every three years.
- For ladies aged 30 and above, you are recommended to get a HPV test done.
Age 40 & Above
Cardiovascular Risk (Chronic diseases)
Screening for chronic diseases enables detection of medical conditions and proper management of your health. Tests include:
- Body Mass Index
- High Blood Pressure
- High Blood Cholesterol
- Diabetes
Fasting is required 8 hours prior.
How often?
You are recommended to have a screening every three years.
You need not screen again if you have already been diagnosed for any of the conditions above.
Age 50 & Above
Colorectal Cancer
The Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) is a test that checks for traces of blood in your stools, and the sample can be collected at home.
How often?
For those aged 50 and above with no symptoms of family history of colorectal cancer, a yearly check is recommended.
You need not screen again if you have already been diagnosed colon cancer.

Females aged 25 - 26
HPV Vaccination
The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is spread via intimate skin to skin contact. A chronic or repeated HPV infections can lead to cervical cancer. The HPV vaccination and regular pap smear can reduce your chances of getting cervical cancer.
For females aged 9 to 26 years old, approved HPV vaccinations are MediSave claimable, up to $500 per year per MediSave account.
Females aged 40 – 49
Breast Cancer Screen
Breast cancer ranks as the top cancer among women in Singapore from 2011-2015. 1 A mammogram can detect the disease in its early stages.
How often?
It is recommended that females between the age of 40 to 49 years old should consider an annual screening (mammogram)

Males and Females, aged 50 and above
Colorectal Cancer Screen
Colorectal cancer (cancer of colon and rectum) is the leading cancer affecting both men and women in Singapore. Symptoms include changes in bowel movements and blood in stools. In its early stages, people with colorectal cancer might not present symptoms.
A colonoscopy is a screening for colorectal cancer, where a flexible tube is used to check the lining of the large intestine. In addition to screening, it can also be used to take biopsies.
How often?
It is recommended that those aged 50 and above to do a colonoscopy once every ten years.

Prostate Cancer Screen
Prostate cancer ranks 3rd among men in Singapore from 2011-2014.3 Risk factors include age (especially after 50 years old) and family history.
Screening for prostate cancer involves a Prostatic Specific Antigen (PSA) test. Speak with our doctor to find out more.
