Dr Shamini obtained her medical degree from the National University of Singapore. She obtained her Masters from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK. She was admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore and College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Singapore. Dr Shamini was a Consultant in the Department of General Obstetrics and Gynaecology in KK Hospital prior to joining Raffles Hospital.
She was awarded a 10 Years’ Long Service Award to KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital in 2005. Dr Shamini served as an Executive Council Member in the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore (OGSS) from 2004 to 2008. Dr Shamini has been actively involved in teaching. She was an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Duke – NUS School of Medicine and a Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Dr Shamini has received the Service from the Heart Exemplary Award 2005, Excellent Service Silver Award 2006, Excellent Service Gold Award 2008 and Excellent Service Star Award 2009.
