Dr Yang Ching Yu is a General Surgeon and Medical Director of Raffles Hospital. Dr Yang Ching Yu received his MBBS in 1980 from the University of Singapore. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow) (1986) and the Academy of Medicine Singapore 1992. Dr Yang underwent advance specialist training at The Cleveland Clinic, Ohio USA, where he was a special Fellow in the Department of Colorectal Surgery and Gastro-Intestinal Surgery under a Singapore Government Health Manpower Development Plan Scholarship in 1989.

Besides general surgery procedures, Dr Yang is particularly interested in colorectal surgery and has extensive diagnostic & therapeutic endoscopy experience. Dr Yang has personally performed more than 20,000 Colonoscopy procedures. In July 2003, Dr Yang was the lead surgeon involved in the successful separation of the Korean Ischio-pagus conjoined twins at Raffles Hospital. Dr Yang is a founding member of the Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia, the ASEAN Colorectal Surgeons Association and the Society of Colorectal Surgeons Singapore. He is also the member of American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and member of Society Internationalis University Colorectal Surgeons.
