Gastrointestinal cancers, laparoscopic surgery (laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, appendix surgery, hernias and stomach surgery), diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, removal of polyps, ERCP and removal of bile duct stones and endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy

Profile:

Dr Eric Teh is a General Surgeon. He specialises in gastrointestinal cancers (especially stomach and esophageal cancers) and particularly in laparoscopic surgery for abdominal conditions like laparoscopic gallstone surgery, appendicitis, hernia and stomach surgery. Dr Teh has interest and experience in evaluation and treatment of abdominal or gastrointestinal problems and in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, removal of polyps and endoscopic removal of bile duct stones (ERCP). He also performs endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy for palmar hyperhidrosis (sweaty palms).

Dr Teh received his MBBS (1984) from the National University of Singapore under the auspices of a Singapore Government Public Services Commission Merit Scholarship. He underwent postgraduate specialist training in Singapore, Glasgow and National Cancer Center, Tokyo, Japan. He is a Fellow with the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow) (1991) and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (1994). He was previously a member of the Ministry of Health, Renal Transplant Team of Surgeons. Dr Teh is one of the founding members of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia and also a founding member of the International Gastric Cancer Association.
